Cats on the Roof

Dear Neighbors,

If you are annoyed by the cats calling and howling on your roofs (which I'm assuming from you yelling at them), you have a few options:

a) You can get them neutered.  This doesn't have to be a very expensive option.  There are lots of low-cost clinics that would be more than happy to help you with this.  Sure, you usually have to wait a few hours to get in as it's a first-come, first-served basis, but you never have to deal with your cat making those horrendous noises ever again.

b) You can keep them inside.  This requires a lot more work to be honest.  The only advantage is that it has the potential of being free.  They still might call when the queens are in heat, but it should be less...and there won't be pounding on your metal roof at all hours of the day and night.

c) You can throw water on them. I've found this to be a particularly useful method.  In theory, it results in no cats being on your roof ever--your own cats will go find other homes where people don't treat them as poorly--but I've found that if you create a habit of putting food out for the cats on the roof that they'll come back anyway, regardless of how much water you throw on them.

d) You can wait until I snap and kill them all with poison. This will take many more years of auditory abuse, fortunately for you, me, and your cats.  I just wanted to let you know that it is an option on the table...especially since all the cats in the neighborhood know that I regularly leave them food scraps on my roof.

Sincerely,
Your Responsible Neighbor who Spays and Neuters her cats (and keeps them inside) so you don't have to listen to them.
